Job Description:

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Engineering team is responsible for proactive maintenance as well as break/fix troubleshooting across multiple customers and varying technologies. The Systems Administrator - Tier 2 is responsible for accurately identifying and resolving failures and potential issues while maintaining accurate documentation and executing maintenance and administrative activities.

ABOUT THE TEAM: The Managed Services team is responsible for the delivery of infrastructure support services related to customers that have systems hosted in our data centers, or systems on-premise at customer’s locations. The Managed Services agreements cover deployment and support of various technologies, including Linux, UNIX, Windows, VMware, LAN/WAN Networks, Security, Backups, AS/400, and Data Center Infrastructure. The team consists of Windows engineers, Linux engineers, Network engineers, SAN engineers, iSeries engineers, and various specialists. NSPI maintains premier-level or above partnerships with multiple major vendors, including Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, EMC, Dell, HP, IBM, F5, and others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Deployment and Maintenance:
• Day-to-day maintenance and administration of internal and customer systems
• Break/fix response for internal and customer systems
• Work on escalations from NOC/Support (Tier 1), and assist Tier 3 Engineers as needed
• Solid understanding of network theory and should be capable of demonstrating this technical knowledge in "real world" situations
• Ability to assess technical and business impact of an IT incident

Travel:
• Minimal travel required (up to 10%)

Schedule:
• Rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment with coverage of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including some weekend days/nights per shift
• Required to work flexible hours to accommodate 7 day by 24-hour Operations coverage
• Participate in on-call rotation (as needed)
